Partners in Education

We believe that a strong home-school partnership is essential for student success. At I.S. 584, we are committed to being inclusive and responsive for all parents and families.

Get Involved We encourage you to take an active role in our school community.

  • Parents’ Association: Connect with other parents and contribute to school-wide initiatives. Our current PA President is Maria Martinez.

  • School Leadership Team (SLT): Participate in school governance and planning.

  • Family Events: Join us for our many community events throughout the year, including:

    • Family Literacy Nights

    • Open School Nights

    • Town Hall Meetings

    • Cultural Celebrations (Hispanic Heritage, Chinese New Year, Black History Month)

    • Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon

Stay Informed

  • Regular Communication: We keep families informed through SMS messages, emails, and phone calls in your preferred language.

  • Parent Coordinator: Our Parent Coordinator, Adrienne Hankerson, is your primary point of contact for questions and support.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: We host regular conferences and provide opportunities for you to volunteer and observe classroom activities.

Language Access We are committed to ensuring all families can participate fully. We provide translation of critical documents and interpretation services for meetings and events. The school’s Language Access Coordinator is Dilis Tolentino.
